Students from Democritus University of Thrace, undergraduate and post-graduate, took part in the surface survey carried out during the 2020 field season. After fieldwork, their contribution was crucial in washing and recording of surface finds, which they had collected during the survey of the six prehistoric settlements in the area of the Rhodope Prefecture. This part of training was carried out in the friendly and warm environment of the Archaeological Museum of Komotini. During this initial phase of the study of finds they had opportunity to learn more about the material culture of the Neolithic period in Thrace, the use of pottery and tools in everyday life of the local Neolithic residents, but also how to use archaeological finds for dating the settlements
