Dushka Urem – Kotsou graduated from the Department of Archaeology, University of Belgrade, specializing in Prehistoric Archaeology. She holds MA and a Ph.D. in Prehistoric Archaeology from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Since 2007, she has been teaching at the Department of History and Ethnology, Democritus University of Thrace. She was a visiting researcher at the University of Bradford (UK), at the University of Bristol (UK), and a Humboldt Research Fellow at the University of Heidelberg. She has directed more than 15 research programmes focusing on the study of Neolithic pottery, has been chief researcher in another 11 projects and has carried out archaeological research in Greece, Serbia, Croatia and Montenegro, and ethnographic research in northern Greece.
